MAY 2019 Updates – Presented my global health work, link attached above, at the Global Network of Public Health Nursing (GNPHN) International Conference May 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya. Profound validations and contacts made for our project “Grassroots Empowerment of Women as Gatekeepers of the Health of the Community”, with follow-up meetings and contacts in Rwanda the following week. Our project is unique for it focuses on women in rural villages as the source of knowledge of the health needs of the community – ‘Women Empowered Health and Well Being’ in keeping with WHO and UN Development Goals. The only project and model that focuses honestly on unrecognized women as the power source in communities. Once health needs validated with schools/parents/teachers, community health workers, and local authorities, we will develop Train the Trainer programs for local community health workers and nurses to learn how to supervise.
All public health nursing educators and practitioners from across the globe are welcome to be involved in assessment of needs and development of Train the Trainer programs, with evaluation. A thrilling global model of empowerment of women as leaders in health of themselves, their families, and communities.
